Exceedance Filly Wins Listed Gosford Guineas – Half-Brother for MM

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 31

The Bjorn Baker stable has been in hot form in the lead up to Christmas and the winning run continued into New Year’s Eve when unbeaten Exceedance filly Dance to the Boom made it three wins in as many starts when taking out the $200,000  Listed Gosford Guineas (1200m) at Wyong bringing an important pedigree update for her half-brother headed to Magic Millions for Rosemont Stud.

Ridden by Rachel King, Dance to Boom stalked her stablemate Midnight Dynamite ad when she got the better of him had enough left to hold off a late surge from untapped Supido filly Shohisha to win by three-quarters of a length with both fillies giving the impression better wins are in store.

“She's got a lot of natural class about her," said winning rider Rachel King, who was also on Dance to the Boom when she won her previous start at Canterbury.

"She's still got a lot to learn. I knew the stablemate was going to be tough to beat and when he quickened around the corner, I knew she wouldn't quicken as well as him.

"She's a big filly with a massive stride on her and I love her attitude with a real will to win."

Dance to the Boom was a $250,000 Magic Millions purchase from Rosemont Stud for Jo Lindsay and runs in the Cambridge Stud colours and while she might not be on the back up to the Magic Millions race day, she is now a valuable stakes-winning filly with nearly $200,000 in prizemoney with the promise of more to come.

Bred and sold by Rosemont Stud, Dance to the Boom is the fourth stakes-winner for Vinery Stud’s Exceedance and is the first foal of unraced I Am Invincible mare Bim Bam Boom, an unraced half-sister to Group I winner Albany Reunion and stakes-winner Fast Dragon.

Rosemont Stud will offer the yearling half-sister by Hanseatic to Dance to the Boom at Magic Millions as Lot 212.

Lot 212 - the half-brother by Hanseatic to Dance to the Boom.

After missing to Starspangledbanner in 2023, Bim Bam Boom is now back in foal to Exceedance.
