MM Perth Now Online

Media Release - Tuesday December 17

The catalogue for the 2025 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, featuring 350 outstanding youngsters from the state’s premier thoroughbred nurseries, as well as a select group of lots from the eastern states, is now online.

Selling will commence at 11am on February 20, with the Book 1 offering to be followed by Book 2 from 10am the following day.

Champion WA sire Playing God has 37 yearlings on offer.

“The Perth Yearling Sale is one of our most popular and anticipated auctions all year,” Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said.

“We always look forward to hosting clients from across the state and country, as well as from overseas, to the Swan Valley. “Year after year the sale presents the cream of the WA crop and our team is confident the 2025 catalogue will deliver again for buyers.

“Western Australian bred and sold horses have a reputation for class, toughness and durability – they measure up in top grade in so many tough racing jurisdictions around the world.”

The 2025 line up includes yearlings by 83 individual sires, including 11 with first season representatives. Local champion sire Playing God (Blackfriars) has 37 youngsters heading to the Swan Valley auction while his studmate Splintex (Snitzel) is the leading first-season sire by representation with 36 lots.

Snitzel sprinter Splintex is an exciting addition to the WA sire ranks.

In a boost for buyers, 337 of the 350 lots are either Westspeed Breeder Nominated or Westspeed Platinum, while 83 lots are BOBS eligible and dozens more eligible for other interstate schemes from Queensland to Victoria.

All lots offered at the auction are eligible to be paid up for the $20 million plus Magic Millions Race Series, which incorporates 28 races across all six states for horses of all ages at distances from 1000 to 2200 metres.
