Yes She is Going to the Gold Coast

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 14

Yes Yes Yes filly Yes Lulu is making rapid progress and booked her ticket to the Gold Coast with a stylish victory in the $175,000 MRC Magic Millions Victoria 3 and 4YO Classic (1200m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Trained by Ciaron Maher, Yes Lulu was placed in the Group III VRC Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes at Flemington and Listed MRC Redoute’s Choice Stakes at two and then cast off maiden status with an easy maiden win at Caulfield last month.

Ridden by Declan Bates, she was doing her best work late and came with a surging run to win by half a length and has now won two of seven starts with over $170,000 in prizemoney.

"She's a lovely filly. It's the first time I've sat on her. I just love the way she finished off,” said Declan Bates.

"She's a big, beautiful, actioned filly, so the fact that she's winning around this tight track is probably a bonus, because she's probably going to be even better on a bigger track.

"She's clearly very well balanced. She gets around there, and today, she had that nice turn of foot.

"It was a good win.

Maher's stable representative Adrian Joyce confirmed the Magic Millions Fillies and Mares (1300m) was the target race at the Gold Coast for Yes Lulu.

“She has always shown us that she could do this," Joyce said.

"On paper, it looked like there was a lot of speed in the race, but there didn't look like there was a whole lot of speed out there, so she did well to come from where she did.

"Dec was very cool on her. He didn't panic and gave her a super ride.

"She'll definitely go up there to the Gold Coast and the 1300 (metres) will be ideal.”

A $260,000 Magic Millions purchase for Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/Brut Racing from the Widden Stud draft, she made the same money at the Gold Coast as she did when offered there as a weanling by Milburn Creek and bought by Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA)/Redwall Bloodstock.

Yes Lulu is a half-brother to stakes-winner Jack the Lad and is the fourth winner from four foals to race from Luluoro, an unraced half-sister by Redoute’s Choice to US stakes-winner Topic.

Yes Yes Yes has sired 20 winners in Australia and New Zealand this season.
