Sea Poem kicked away turning for home and stuck on well to take the 1221m maiden by half a length with Blake Shinn on board.

A $160,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Jamie McCalmont / Lindsay Park Racing from Cambridge Stud at Inglis Easter, Sea Poem carries the colours of international owner Marc Chan.

“I’m thrilled to get a win in these colours,” said Blake Shinn.

“I was first introduced to him when I was in Hong Kong with David Hayes and we had a good bit of success and it’s nice to bring it back here to Australia and get a win for him with this nice filly trained by the Hayes boys.”

Sea Poem is the second winner from well related import Prose Poem (GB), a placed half-sister by Street Cry to stakes-winner Fencing from Champion 3YO Filly and Group I winner Latice, a half-sister to another Group I winner in Lawman.

Cambridge Stud will offer the yearling colt from Prose Poem by Sword of State at Karaka Book 1 as Lot 223.

Sea Poem is the 13th winner this season for Pierata, who had a fee increase for this season at Yulong rising from $44,000 to $66,000.
