Keeping his record at a perfect three for three following a facile win over 1900 metres at Gosford, the Kris Less trained Furore is a logical one to follow on Thursday.

The 3yo son of Pierro opened his winning account at the first time of asking at Taree on January 15 then backed that up with a four-length romp over 1570m at Cessnock three weeks later.

Brenton Avdulla sent Furore into an all-out drive 600 metres from home and his four overmatched opponents were struggling to stay in touch by the time the field entered the home straight.

The odds-on favourite came away to defeat Never Been Another (Street Sense) by three and a quarter lengths with Crimson Halo (Sebring) another five and a half lengths back in third.


The Australian Bloodstock colour-bearer had a good grounding with eight barrier trials before making his first start and took plenty of time to find his feet according to Australian Bloodstock's Jamie Lovett.

"He was a horse who took a lot of time and Kris was very patient with him early," Lovett told Sky Racing.

"To be fair he showed us nothing early but we cut him and that was the making of him.

"He has taken every step and from here on in it's just a case of whether Kris wants to push on with him or turn him out and start again."

Consigned by Haunui Farm to the 2016 NZB Premier Yearling Sale, Furore was knocked down to Australian Bloodstock/Lees Racing for $210,000.

He is one of three winners out of the Redoute's Choice mare stormy Choice a three-quarter sister to Group 1 Brisbane Cup winner Danestorm (Danehill) and the stakes-placed Danesty (Danehill) and a half-brother to the top-class Hong Kong performer Blizzard.
