Break Out Carnival Starts for Better Than Ready's Hidden Wealth

Craig Tompson - Sunday December 1

Better Than Ready’s impressive Hidden Wealth kicked off his “break out carnival” in brilliant fashion, cruising to an easy win in the Group III George Moore Stakes at Doomben on Saturday.

Better Than Ready

Ridden by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, the Tony Gollan trained five-year-old engaged in a something of a drag race up front in the early stages with Prince Of Boom before taking control around the home turn and coming away impressively to defeat Cifrado (Encryption) by 3.4 lengths with Prince Of Boom (Spirit Of Boom) holding third in the Heavy 10 conditions.

The win takes his record to eight wins, a second, and two thirds from 15 starts with earnings of $579,325.

“We didn’t want to worry too much about tactics. It was all about just letting him flow and get into a good rhythm,” said Gollan.

“He’s a horse I’m very excited about.

“I thought the summer would be a break out carnival for him and today’s just showed that straight away.”

Hidden Wealth was a $110,000 purchase for Gollan Racing/John Foote Bloodstock from the Kynoch Thoroughbreds draft at the MM Gold Coast March Yearling Sale.

Bred by Ms JB Fraser and Don Loomis in Queensland, Hidden Wealth is one of three winners from three to race for Bradbury's Luck mare Miss Stash.

Her Better Than Ready yearling was also bought by Gollan and John Foote at the Magic Millions March Sale this year for $80,000, and she foaled a full-brother to Hidden Wealth this season.
