Monday's 2YO trials at Rosehill

Breednet - Monday February 19
Menari's promising full-sister, Sweet Ava was among the two-year-old winners at the Rosehill barrier trials on Monday morning which also included a slick first timer.

Winner Supreme's yearling shotThe slick first timer is the Gary Moore trained Winner Supreme (Rothesay x Little Big Horse), an original $20,000 buy at the MM Gold Coast March Yearling Sale before being sold again at the Magic Millions 2YOs In Training Sale for $60,000.

He showed impressive gate speed and sustained his effort to the line to win comfortably and record the equal fastest time of the morning in 53 seconds.

That 53 seconds was equalled by the Waterhouse/Bott trained filly Glamour Cruise (Smart Missile x Bondarenko (NZ)).

She was a $75,000 purchase for the It's All About The Girls Syndicate and James Bester at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, and has been to the races once when second at Canterbury on a heavy track in October.

Sweet Ava, the sister to Menari and, like him, retained to race by breeder George Altomonte, won her heat narrowly when not asked for any serious effort.

She has won her only start to date when getting there narrowly at Canterbury in December and looks like there's more upside to come.

Other winners worth noting included Lean Mean Machine (Zoustar x She's Meaner), a $250,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling having his first outing from the Chris Waller stable and Spin (I Am Invincible x Roulettes), a $200,000 buy from the Inglis Classic Sale.

Spin has had two starts for a fourth in the Listed Breeders Plate and second in the Victory Vein Plate so obviously has potential.
