Catalogue Online for the Southern Hemisphere Session of the Tattersalls Online December Sale

The catalogue of initial entries for the Southern Hemisphere Session, an innovative collaboration between Tattersalls Online and Inglis Digital, has now been published on the Tattersalls Online website, click here to see.

The headline feature of the Tattersalls Online December Sale which will be held on 11th – 12th December, the session will showcase mares in foal on Southern Hemisphere covers and offer a unique opportunity to breeders.

Five further entries have been confirmed for the Southern Hemisphere Session which will feature eight mares in foal to Darley’s outstanding young stallion TOO DARN HOT, Champion First Season Sire in both hemispheres, who will not shuttle to Australia this year.

Mares in foal to Too Darn Hot (GB) are a feature of the sale.

The Classic producing sire has enjoyed an extraordinary start to his career at stud and continues to shatter records in both hemispheres with multiple Group 1 winners from his first crops led by Irish 1000 Guineas winner FALLEN ANGEL. TOO DARN HOT boasts an impressive 42% juvenile winners to runners in the Northern Hemisphere in his second crop, led by Group 1 Futurity Trophy winner HOTAZHELL, rated 116 by Timeform. Progeny by the sire continue to excel in Australia where he boasts 9% Stakes winners to runners, highlighted by the leading three-year-old and three-time Group 1 winner BROADSIDING. 

 The additional entries are led by NEWTON’S NIGHT, a winning daughter of GALILEO and a full-sister to Grade 3 winner and multiple blacktype producer DRESS REHEARSAL, who will be offered by Moulton Stud.

The dam of Treasure Isle is in the sale.

NEWTON’S NIGHT is the dam of four winners led by this year’s Listed winning and dual Group 3 placed two-year-old TREASURE ISLE, and the granddam of 2024 Royal Ascot second SPACE LEGEND, runner up in the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes to CALANDAGAN. The well-related mare is also a half-sister to FAIRY OF THE NIGHT, dam of Group 2 King George Stakes winner MUTHMIR and the Group placed MY TITANIA, dam of Annabel Neasham’s Group 1 Doncaster Mile runner up MY OBERON and dual Group 1 placed MY PROSPERO.

Another international pedigree to feature is the South African Champion Two-Year-Old Filly and Group 1 winner CLOTH OF CLOUD who will also be consigned by Moulton Stud. A half-sister to the Group 1 winning filly SILVER MOUNTAIN, CLOTH OF CLOUD is by CAPTAIN AL and is out of the Listed winning FUSAICHI PEGASUS mare OUR TABLE MOUNTAIN, a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Mile winner and successful dual hemisphere sire ARTIE SCHILLER out of the dual American Grade 1 winner HIDDEN LIGHT. CLOTH OF CLOUD’s colt foal by WOOTON BASSETT will be offered as lot 917 in the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

BELLE ISLE is the third lot in the Moulton Stud draft and brings an added dynamic to the session as the multiple blacktype producer will be offered with a filly foal at foot by NO NAY NEVER, foaled to Southern Hemisphere time. The dam of Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes winner ABEL HANDY and Group 3 Phoenix Sprint Stakes runner up WOODY CREEK, BELLE ISLE is out of Listed placed BOWNESS, herself a half-sister to Royal Ascot Group 2 King’s Stand Stakes winner DOMINICA and to DORELIA, the dam of Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes second RIMTH.

Joining the three-year-old CRIMSON CORONET in the draft of New England Stud are two further exciting young mares in BELIEVEINMIRACLES and GOOD LIZA. The regally bred five-year-old BELIEVEINMIRACLES is a winning daughter of the peerless FRANKEL out of the OASIS DREAM mare MOSUO, a half-sister to dual Group 1 winning Champion ULYSSES from the exceptional Niarchos family of Champion racemare SHIVA. They will be joined by the five-year-old GOOD LIZA, a winner at two by KINGMAN out of the Group 3 winner GOOD DONNA. GOOD LIZA is a half-sister to the top class international performer GROCER JACK, a dual Group 3 winner and a further eight times Group placed, and to the Listed winning filly GHISLAINE from the family of Irish Derby winner FAME AND GLORY and 1000 Guineas winner LEGATISSIMO. GOOD LIZA’s colt foal by LUCKY VEGA will be offered as Lot 605 in the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.

In addition to CRIMSON CORONET, the previously announced lots in the Southern Hemisphere Session include the dual Group 3 placed GALILEO mare KNOW THYSELF, a daughter of the triple Group 2 winner and New Zealand 1000 Guineas and Derby placegetter FIX who will be consigned by Hazelwood Bloodstock. Watership Down Stud will offer the Group 2 placed SAVABEEL mare SEDAKA from the family of international Group 1 winners BEAUTY ETERNAL, BRANDO, CROWDED HOUSE, RECKLESS ABANDON, TICKER TAPE and TRIBALIST.

The eight mares confirmed for the Southern Hemisphere Session will be available for inspection until the sale takes place on 11th – 12th December.
