Bold Bastille Sells for $810,000 on Inglis Digital

Media Release - Tuesday November 19

High-class filly Bold Bastille (Brazen Beau) today sold in a standalone Inglis Digital Online Sale for $810,000 to Walnut Farm (aka Yulong).

Offered by Lindsay Park Racing as agent for a strong ownership group which included Ozzie Kheir, John O’Neill and partners, Bold Bastille was the subject of significant interest from a number of Australia’s leading trainers and breeders.

While there were a number of individual bidders on her, the closing stages of the bidding boiled down to a duel, with Walnut Farm ultimately prevailing.

At this stage, the intention is to keep the 3YO in work for at least another season, although no final decision has been made.

In selling for $810,000, Bold Bastille becomes the 8th horse to realise $500,000 or more on Inglis Digital this year and the 104th to realise $100,000 or more on the platform in the same time frame.

Mat Becker, whose Group 1 Bloodstock purchased Bold Bastille with Lindsay Park Racing for $270,000 at last year’s Premier Yearling Sale, described today’s result as “fantastic’’.

“All the owners are over the moon, we’re so happy with the outcome, everybody is just really pleased,’’ Becker said.

“It’s great to see her end up at that price, she really deserved it and it was very exciting to watch the bidding that final half hour or so, it really soared.

“It’s just so straight forward and easy with Inglis Digital, we’ve used the platform before to sell these nice fillies and mares and it just simplifies the whole process for everybody – the buyers, the sellers and the bidders.

“As a seller you know you’re going to get the best result using Inglis Digital because it’s so well marketed to all the right people. You’re at ease when you sell with Inglis Digital.’’

Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth added: “While we are reluctant to take anything for granted, we expected that she would be very popular and that is how it played out.

“She profiles up as a filly with plenty of racing left in her yet and when the time comes to breed with her, there will be no shortage of options for her.

“This result proves yet again that Inglis Digital is the go-to platform to sell these quality race fillies and mares and it’s certainly not too late in the year for owners with other suitable horses to offer them for sale to the biggest and best online database in the world.’’

Attention now switches to the Inglis Digital November (Late) Sale, for which entries remain open until midnight tomorrow night.

The catalogue will include a host of appealing prospects including Our Belisa, the dam of $1m Golden Gift winner North England who will be offered in foal to Stay Inside and Snitzel Blitz, dam of this season’s G1 winner Pinstriped, who is offered carrying a pregnancy to exciting young stallion Tassort.

The sale will open on Friday afternoon, with the final countdown of bidding beginning from 10am next Wednesday, November 27.
