Tassort 2YO Salutes at Doomben

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 9

Newgate Farm’s classy young sire Tassort is on the board with his first juvenile winner of the season with Secret Sort scoring an impressive win at his second start at Doomben on Saturday.

Trained by Donna Stanbridge, Secret Sort was second on debut at the same track last month and improved sharply to overpower the race favourite Canoodling to win the 1110m scamper by nearly two lengths.

Secret Sort was a $50,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase for Mishani Enterprises from the Hopetoun Farm draft and is a half-sister to Group III winner Big Boy Roy being the third winner from stakes-placed Flying Spur mare Follonica.

Secret Sort was a $50,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase.

Second place-getter in the race was talented Capitalist filly Canoodling, a $235,000 Magic Millions purchase for Newgate Bloodstock that runs for Ladbrokes, Newgate and partners. She has had two seconds at her first two starts and will no doubt find her turn in the winner’s circle too.
