Militarize Back to Training with Chris Waller

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 29

The path to a successful stud career is not assured for a high profile colt and in the case of triple Group I winner Militarize he will now be returning to training after poor fertility has curtailed his brief sojourn on the star studded roster at Newgate Farm.

Advertised at a fee of $38,500, the son of Dundeel was expected to cover a full book of mares, but talk from the Hunter Valley when his first pregnancy scans came back quickly gave the impression all was not well.

It has now been confirmed that his stud career is over and he may possibly be gelded after the insurance claim is settled.

Militarize was retired sound and lightly raced with his former trainer Chris Waller no doubt thrilled to have the four year-old coming back into work with a myriad of options on the table for a horse that competed at the highest level right up until to his departure to stud.

Militarize was placed in Group I races t his last three starts in the Randwick Guineas, George Ryder Stakes and Doncaster Mile, so will be a massive drawcard for the Sydney Autumn Carnival if he can recapture his peak form next year.
