Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 5
The big guns were in action at the Rosehill trials on Monday morning including Winx and Redzel, but there was still plenty of interest in the two year-old trials with seven heats including one taken out by a son of the 2017 Champion 2YO Sire in France, Siyouni.

SiyouniA homebred for Woodpark Stud, the Jean Dubois trained two year-old colt Aylmerton is unique in being the only two year-old in Australia by Siyouni.

He showed natural ability in his trial jumping on terms and then mustering speed quickly to surge up and take a position near the lead albeit covering ground.

Held together to the line he stretched out nicely and maintained a head advantage on the line in what looked a strong heat with Sebring colt Ringerdingding charging home for second in front of Inglis Nursery winner Irish Bet.

The John O’Shea trained Irish Bet was never out of second gear in his first outing since making a winning debut back in December.

Aylmerton is the first foal of Aloona (USA), a half-sister by Smart Strike to Group III winner Galatee, the dam of Group II winners Dartmouth and Manatee.

A Group I winning son of Pivotal, Siyouni has been a sensation in Europe posting 18 stakes-winners headed by Group I winners Ervedya and Laurens after starting his career at a lowly service fee of 7,000 euros.

Siyouni stands at The Aga Khan Studs, Haras de Bonneval in France this year at a fee of 75,000 euros, up from 45,000 last year, so his star is on the rise.

Other juvenile heat winners were: Dream Child (Dream Ahead (USA), Fallgold (Exceed and Excel), Bubbles ‘n’ Troubles (Hinchinbrook), Toulouse (Lope de Vega (Fr), Chabreet (Exceed and Excel) and Legend of Condor (Not a Single Doubt), click here to see all the trials.
