First Win for Militarize Three-Quarter Brother

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 30

When Lindsay Park Racing/Lizzie Jelfs paid $160,000 for a Super Seth colt from Amerindia (GB) at the 2023 Magic Millions he looked very well bought when his three-quarter brother Militarize came out and won the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes, Champagne Stakes and then last year’s Golden Rose.

Perfectly Good is no Militarize, but the Hayes brothers have found the key to three year-old gelding Perfectly Good and he opened his account at Wagga on Monday with a facile victory.

Stepped out to 1600m at his sixth race start, Perfectly Good scored a resounding four and a half length win as a short priced favourite to the great delight of his big ownership group headed by popular racing presenter Lizzie Jelfs.

Perfectly Good was bred by GSA Bloodstock and offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds. He is the second winner from blueblood Dubawi import Amerindia (GB), a daughter of Group I winner Satwa Queen and half-sister to the dams of Group I winners Nation’s Pride and Lucky Vega.

Perfectly Good was a $160,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Perfectly Good was a $160,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Amerindia produced a colt by Dundeel last spring and was sent to the UK in June this year so will no doubt be going to a high profile European sire this year.
