Trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, Mem’s Choice was well fancied in the 1200m maiden and hit the line strongly to win by a length adding to the impressive record of her dam Abscond.

An $825,000 Inglis Easter purchase from Sledmere Stud for Peter Moody on behalf of Gary Chittick of Waikato Stud, Mem’s Choice is a full sister to Group I winning $3million earner Invincibella, who produced her first winner last week when Justify (USA) filly Mergeila saluted at Canterbury on Wednesday.

Mem's Choice was an $825,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

Mem’s Choice is the fourth winner from seven to race from unraced Galileo mare Abscond, whose other three winners are Group III winner Secret Blaze and stakes-winner Extreme Flight, who stands at Rosemont Stud in Victoria.

Abscond produced a colt by Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside last spring and is due to foal to I Am Invincible.
