Golden Rose Fav Broadsiding Impressive Again at the Trials

Breednet - Tuesday September 17

While recent weeks have seen plenty of G1 Golden Rose candidates stepping out, we have not seen the favourite, Broadsiding fire a race day shot yet but he had his second barrier trial at Hawkesbury on Tuesday where he did not disappoint.

The Godolphin colt, by Too Darn Hot, will be going in to the Golden Rose first-up but has done nothing but encourage supporters in his public outings in recent weeks which have included two barrier trials and a gallop between races.

This morning he settled nicely for James McDonald before stretching out with a particularly impressive final section seemingly well within himself to finish second.

It was reminiscent of his first trial at Rosehill on September 5 which would also have pleased the Godolphin camp when also finishing second.

Broadsiding won his last four races in a seven start juvenile campaign including the G1 Champagne Stakes and G1 J.J Atkins both over 1600m.

He is currently the $3.50 favourite with TAB in the Golden Rose. Also the $3.50 favourite for the Caulfield Guineas and rated a $9 chance in the Cox Plate.
