Promising Debut Winner for Brutal

Tara Madgwick - Sunday August 18

At this time of year promising debut winners are gold for second season sires looking for traction in a competitive stallion market and Brutal got just such a horse on Sunday when his three year-old filly Savagery Vibe cantered in at Bendigo.

The Nick Ryan trained filly had obviously been showing good potential as she was sent out favourite and lived up to expectation when she led all the way for Ethan Brown to win the 1100m maiden by more than three lengths.

Bred by Orbis Bloodstock and raised at Newgate, Savagery Vibe was sold unraced by Orbis through the 2024 Inglis Digital February (early) Sale where she was bought by astute bloodstock agent Cameron Cooke for $22,500.

Savagery Vibe had a preparation with Chris Waller as was detailed in her sale page and was being sold due to her owner Orbis Bloodstock looking to reduce their numbers

Cameron Cooke and all her new owners will no doubt enjoy today and look forward to more wins in store.

Savagery Vibe is the third winner from four foals to race from imported Group III winner Kiss Moon (USA), a half-sister by Malibu Moon to stakes-winners Kiss Mine and Mischievous Kiss.

Kiss Moon  was also on-sold in 2023 through Inglis Digital for $9,500 to Iky Marzato and had a filly last spring by North Pacific and is now in foal to Profiteer.

Savagery Vibe is the tenth winner from the first crop of Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap winner Brutal, who stands at a fee of $16,500.
