The speedy son of Exceed and Excel added a new juvenile winner to the tally on Sunday when the Steve Farley trained Aquafire saluted as favourite at his third start in the 1020m dash.

A modest $5,000 purchase for his trainer from the Riversdale draft at the Inglis Scone HTBA Yearling Sale, Aquafire has already won over $25,000 in prizemoney.

Headwater has a good crop of 111 two year-olds this season and has sired 13 Australian winners from 28 runners that include stakes-winner Pure Aqua and metro winners Don’t Forget Jack and London’s Image.
