The Robbie Laing trained colt Frankel My Dear makes his debut over 1000 metres at Flemington on Saturday, a distance probably well short of ideal for him, but you have to start somewhere!

A $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Cressfield draft, Frankel My Dear is a half-brother to French stakes-winner Buenos Dias from Rainbow Quest mare Buenos Aires (IRE), a half-sister to Might and Power.

It’s also the family of Group I winners Mosheen, Lucky Owners and Beauty Parlour.
