Dubawi Mare Clear Thinking Stays Perfect

Mark Smith - Sunday June 23

The blue-blooded Dubawi mare Clear Thinking (GB) kept her record at a perfect two for two when dominating the Inglis Digital June Late Sale - Bidding Closing Wednesday Hcp (1200m) at Scone on Sunday.

Ridden by Aaron Bullock for Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich, Clear Thinking (GB) travelled three wide with cover.

Under little urging, Clear Thinking (GB) came four wide on the turn to hit the front on straightening. Possibly losing a little focus over the final 50 metres, Clear Thinking (GB) was untroubled to defeat the Nicconi gelding Climate Control by two and a quarter lengths, with the Pariah filly Antisocial a length back in third.

Clear Thinking (GB) debuted with an eight-length romp over 1000m at Scone on June 11.

Paul Messara was undecided whether to give the rising 5-year-old daughter of Dubawi one more start before setting her for the spring.

Clear Thinking (GB) was purchased in Europe by Arrowfield Stud as a broodmare prospect before deciding to give her a chance on the track.

She is the third winner from four to race for the Snitzel mare Sweet Idea, who banked over $2.4 million with eight wins and eight places from 19 starts. Sweet Idea won the Group II ATC Silver Slipper Stakes at two and placed in the Golden Slipper and Magic Millions 2YO Classic. Her career highlight came at four when winning the Group I ATC The Galaxy, to add to wins in the Group II ATC Light Fingers Stakes, Group II ATC Missile Stakes, and Group II MRC Tristarc Stakes.

Consigned to the 2015 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, Sweet Idea was knocked down to part-owner Nick Vass for $1.6 million before selling to bloodstock agent John Warren, acting for The Queen.
