Snitzel - New Winner

It’s been a few days of ups and downs for Yarraman Park’s young stallion Brave Smash (Jpn), whose glamour G1 mare Kimochi was ruled out of the Group I BRC Stradbroke due to a tendon injury, but on the flip side he produced an exciting new stakes-winner at Eagle Farm on Saturday in Brave Design.

Kovalica made a welcome return to winning form when he prevailed in a pulsating three-horse finish to the A$1.2 million Gr.2 HKJC World Pool Q22 (2200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Bred and raced initially by Dorrington Farm’s Robert Crabtree, Zoustar mare Floozie changed hands last year and runs now for Yarraman Park, who sent her to Queensland to be trained by Tony Gollan and that decision is reaping impressive rewards.

The promising 2-year-old Snitzel colt Wanaruah took his record to two for two when leading at every call in over 1400m at Randwick.

I Am Invincible added a new stakes-winner to his tally at Eagle Farm on Saturday when the Gooree Stud bred gelding Compelling Truth landed the $!60,000 Listed BRC Hinkler Handicap (1200m).

Recording a thoroughly deserving elite level victory off the back of his sensational form this time in, Chris and Corey Munce’s 2yo Cool Aza Beel colt Cool Archie took his campaign to five straight wins, capturing the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) in style.

Although it’s been a while between wins for Camelot stayer Sir Lucan (IRE), the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained 7yo returned to the scene of his most recent success some 12 months prior to the day, recording consecutive victories in the $200,000 Listed ATC Winter Cup (2400m) at Rosehill.

With Lindsay Park's much loved stable star Mr Brightside set to turn eight this year, the time is ripe for a new star to emerge for the stable and it looks like being another Kiwi bred in the shape of Harry Angel (IRE) gelding War Machine.
