One To Watch - Scone

Mark Smith - Tuesday June 11

With five barrier trials behind her, the 3-year-old I Am Invincible filly Lights Of Paradise looked the consummate professional when stepping out for the first time in the Coolmore Maiden Hcp (1200m) at Scone on Tuesday.

Ridden by Christian Reith for Kris Lees, Lights Of Paradise led at every call to defeat the Casino Prince mare Sunset Panorama by one and a quarter lengths, with the Divine Prophet filly Sebilla back in third.

Carrying the Wanless tartan and yellow seams, Lights Of Paradise was a $525,000 purchase for Tasman Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park Stud draft at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The daughter of I Am Invincible underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove bone chips from its off-fore knee following its second career barrier trial at Wyong on June 20, 2023.

She is the fourth winner from five to race for the classy Choisir mare Rose Of Choice, a Listed winner and multiple Group placed.

China Horse Club/Newgate/Go/Trilogy shelled out $800,000 for a brother to Lights Of Paradise at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Named Kingdom Undersiege, he has yet to place in two starts for Peter and Paul Snowden, but did win a barrier trial at Rosehill on Tuesday morning.

A granddaughter of the Listed VATC Summoned Stakes winner and Group 1 WATC Karrakatta Plate runner Rose Of Dane ((Danehill), Rose Of Choice has a yearling colt by Bivouac named Multiple Choice and was covered by Toronado (IRE) last spring after missing in 2022.
