The Autumn Sun Filly and D’Argento 10 – Bowness MM

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Friday May 31

Bowness Stud have been well pleased with the promising start for their well credentialed young sire D’Argento and if you too are a fan of the charismatic grey, you’ll be making a bee line for the Bowness draft at the MM National Yearling Sale next week with 10 of their 18 strong draft by the Group I winning son of So You Think.

D'Argento has sired two stakes horses among three winners from just eight runners.

Precocious enough to win his only two starts at the back end of his juvenile season, D’Argento trained on in brilliant fashion to be a Group I winner at three and was competitive with the best horses in the country such as Winx and Hartnell (GB) at four.

D’Argento has had just eight starters so far, but they are headed by three smart winners and two of those Rag Queen and Silva’ Suave have gained Black Type, so the future looks bright.

While D’Argento is the obvious drawcard for the Bowness draft, they will present a filly by leading third crop sire The Autumn Sun, whose fillies have been unstoppable in classic races over the last few months.

Group I winners Autumn Angel, Vibrant Sun and Coco Sun have put their sire on a path to becoming the premium source of classic type horses in Australia and Lot 1409 is bred on the same cross as Coco Sun being from a daughter of Encosta de Lago.

Lot 1409

This well related filly is a half-sister to Group III winner Sookie, the dam of dual Group I winner Shadow Hero, who both the ATC Spring Champion Stakes and Randwick Guineas. She is from unraced Purple Blood, a daughter of Champion 2YO Filly Victory Vein.
