I Am Invincible Cracks $30million in Seasonal Earnings

Media Release - Tuesday May 28

Champion sire I Am Invincible has created another piece of Australian racing history, becoming the first sire whose progeny have earned over $30 million in Australia a single season.

I Am Invincible

With a lead of close to $10 million over his closest rival and only two months of the season remaining, I Am Invincible is destined to be crowned Australia’s champion sire for the third straight year and it will be the greatest season ever in terms of progeny earnings.

He recently surpassed Snitzel’s season record, which stood from the 2017/18 racing season at $29.2 million, and his progeny have continued to rack up the prize money.

Star mare Imperatriz leads the way of his progeny with $5.3 million this season, while his other progeny too have earned over $1 million in Australia this season including Attractable, I Am Me, In Secret, Hawaii Five Oh, King Of Sparta and Estriella.

He is also Australia’s leading sire this season on stakes winners with 15, while his progeny have won more stakes races, 28, than any other.

“It’s been such a great journey watching on as I Am Invincible has broken record after record through his career,” Yarraman Park’s Arthur Mitchell said.

“To break through $30 million in Australian progeny earnings in one season is yet another remarkable achievement and one we are very proud of.”

The $30 million achievement is the latest in I Am Invincible’s remarkable career.

He is currently the only sire in Australian racing history to have more than 200 winners in a single season, having done that twice in 2022/23 (202) and 2020/21 (208).

His 338 total progeny wins in Australia, achieved last season, is also a record for any sire.

In 2018/19, I Am Invincible also set a new record for most Australian stakes winners in a season, with 28, eclipsing the record of 26 jointly held by Danehill and Snitzel.

He now has 108 stakes winners globally, all conceived from his Yarraman Park base. His expected victory in the sires’ championship would make him just the 10th stallion in the past century to win three consecutive Australian Sires championships.

But he has also created history in the sales ring. In 2023, his yearling progeny fetched a combined $62.9 million, a record for any Australian stallion, surpassing what Redoute’s Choice grossed in 2007. It was the third highest of any global stallion this century.

His tally of 73 yearlings to have fetched more $1 million at public auction is second only to Redoute’s Choice, who finished on 82, and with the rising 20-year-old still active, and having had 10 yearlings in that category in 2024, he is expected to take that record shortly.
