OTI Racing Rising Star Wins G2 – Arc or Cup?

The OTI Racing colours were in winning form at Longchamp on Sunday where progressive stayer Sevenna’s Knight scored another impressive win in the Group II Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (3100m) and connections are dreaming Melbourne Cup or possibly Arc de Triomphe.

Trained by Andre Fabre, Sevenna’s Knight was purchased privately by OTI Racing after winning impressively at Compiegne last year and the son of Camelot subsequently won a Listed race and performed well in several Group races.

Sent to Dubai for the Group II Gold Cup over 3200m earlier this year, Sevenna’s Knight finished sixth to Tower of London, but has obviously come on from that experience and has now won both of his subsequent starts in France.

Sevenna’s Knight heads next to the Group I Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud over 240m on June 30 and that race will be the decider between a possible tilt at the Arc and a trip to Melbourne.

Bred by Gestut Ammerland, Sevenna’s Knight is bred to be very good as a sibling to Group winners Sevenna Star and Savanne as well as stakes-winners Samurai and Sassella. He is the fifth stakes-winner from six foals to race from Group III winning Galileo mare Sevenna.

With four wins and three placings from 13 starts, Sevenna’s Knight is a star on the rise for Camelot, whose progeny have a great record in Australia.

The Epsom Derby winning son of Montjeu has sired 13 stakes-winners here including Group I winners Sir Dragonet and  Russian Camelot, who stands at Widden Victoria with his first two year-olds to race next season.
