Swiftly Doing the Job

Media Release - Thursday January 4

Springview Park's Swift Alliance continues to do the job off the back of severely limited opportunities; the handsome and speedy member of the Zabeel sire line last week represented by another smart winner.

Having already sired a Group Three winner - the high class Singapore galloper Clarton Super - from a debut crop of just four named foals (all of whom are winners), Swift Alliance now has a smart local in the shape of Bolek.

After racing greenly when fourth in a hot form race at his Geelong debut, Bolek was impressive showing plenty of natural toe - leading throughout to win in easy fashion at Mornington.

Swift AllianceDoing it at both ends and quickly shaking off challengers, the Michael Moroney trained Bolek had 2 1/4 lengths to spare on his rivals in the 1200m contest and looks to have a bright future.

"He is a horse who has shown us good speed," reported jockey Patrick Moloney, "and with the blinkers on today he switched on nicely and attacked the line really well."

"He was a cracking yearling," recalled Paul Moroney who purchased the Gooree bred bay at the 2016 Inglis Classic for $60,000.

"I always thought he would make the grade as he is just so athletic. He has a lot of Zabeel about him and clearly has Swift Alliance's speed."

Bolek's win was part of a good week for Springview's Peter Smith who trained a two-track double the following day; Brave Master saluting at Yarra Valley (a meeting at which Max Master was a gallant second at nice odds) whilst the consistent Our Brigette was too good at Corowa.

Brave Master and Max Master are talented sons of the later Masterprint who called Springview home, serving small books and doing a great job siring several smart performers including the durable stakes winner Play Master and the multiple city winner Hero Master.

"After losing Masterprint we started looking for another stallion to fit the bill, one who we would be happy sending our own mares to with the view of producing sound, fast horses," Peter Smith said.

And he could not be happier with Swift Alliance, a horse whose first Springview foals are impressing - "they are cracking types which is not surprising as he is such a great looking horse himself," Smith enthused.

Another promising type for Swift Alliance is Magic Alliance who debuted with an encouraging third at Coff's Harbour on Friday, hitting the lead a bit too soon after finding trouble in running and boxing on gamely. And Speed With Ease was another in winning form this week.
