New Stakes Winner for Reset

Mark Smith - Saturday December 30

The $41 chance Don'tbabylon closed out Saturday's meeting at Doomben on a sour note for punters when she led every step of the way in the Listed Magic Millions Nudgee Stakes (1200m).

Ridden by champion jockey Jeff Lloyd for trainer Matthew Dunn, Don'tbabylon held the challenge of Notonyourlife (Sebring) by half a length with the heavily supported Pepperano (Court Command) a long-neck back in third.

In earning her first stakes win the daughter of Reset advances her record to 5 wins, 4 seconds and 2 thirds from 18 starts with earnings of $180,992.

Previously trained in Victoria, Don'tbabylon is the third and final foal of the Arena mare Lectures who died in 2013.

A $6,000 purchase Inglis Great Southern Bloodstock Sale, Lectures was a Sydney winning daughter of the unraced Canny Lad mare Cogitation who is a three-quarter sister to the stakes-placed Bromide and a half-sister to stakes winner Accumulation and the stakes-placed Many Hands, the dam of Group II Sandown Guineas winner Dextrous who in turn is the dam of the young stallions Skilled and Ambidexter.

Don'tbabylon becomes the 33rd stakes winner for Darley Stud's reset (Zabeel) who has two yearlings catalogued for the Gold Coast, two at the Inglis Classic and 13 at the Inglis Premier.
