Ridden by Joao Moreira for Noriyuki Hori, the son of Maurice (JPN) came with a barnstorming finish to defeat Meliorem (Cheval Grand) by one and a quarter length with Ask Come On More (Bricks and Mortar) a neck back in third.

The form of the Impact Kinen is holding up as the winner Cosmo Kuranda, a son of the Caulfield Cup winner Southern Speed, was a fighting second in the Group 1 Japanese 2000 Guineas.

Danon Ayers Rock as a yearling

The 2022 JRHA Select Yearling Sale topper, Danon Ayers Rock is a half-brother to triple Group III winner Primo Scene (Deep Impact), who was runner-up in the Group 1 Victoria Mile at Tokyo.

The son of Arrowfield shuttler Maurice was a ¥495,000,000 purchase for Masahiro Noda of Danox Co. Ltd.

He is one of four winners from seven to race for the 4-time Group 1 winning daughter of Fastnet Rock.

Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr purchased a filly by Epiphaneia out of Mosheen’s daughter Paronella for ¥60,000,000 (A$648,000).

Paronella (Lord Kanaloa) was runner-up in four of her eight starts. Her 3-year-old filly has been named Yachiyo (JPN) and races for a syndicate that includes Trilogy.

Mosheen has an unraced 2-year-old colt by Epiphaneia named Kosciuszko. She has a yearling sister to Danon Ayers Rock and was covered by Kitasan Black.
