The Inglis Select Weanling Sale next Monday and Tuesday will be a busy one for Dr Richard McClenahan, his wife Kim and their team with a 14 strong draft by nine different sires sure to make serious appeal to pinhookers and end users alike.

Mullaglass has proven a reliable source of winners achieving lasting fame for having bred and sold Group I winning sire Hellbent, but recent success has come with talented three year-old Robrick.

Bred by McClenahan and sold as a yearling at Inglis Classic through the Valiant Stud draft, the Invader colt sold for $220,000 to OnTrack Thoroughbreds and has proven an instant hit.

With two metro wins and three seconds from eight starts, the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr trained Robrick was also second in the $1million Inglis Sprint to Estriella and has won just shy of $340,000.

Another smart graduate from Mullaglass Stud has been this season’s stakes-placed juvenile winner Full Force, who was third in the Karaka Million.

The Cosmic Force colt made $70,000 at this sale in 2022 for Mullaglass when snapped up as a pinhook for New Zealand and then made $135,000 when offered at K1 by Kilgravin Lodge and bought by Benner Racing.

Mullaglass will offer a three-quarter brother to Full Force as Lot 18. He is from the first crop of Deep Field’s Group I winning sprinter Portland Sky and is the third foal from Exceed and Excel mare Jawhara, whose first two foals are both now winners.

Lot 18 - Portland Sky colt from Jawhara.

His third dam is stakes-placed Cirque du Soleil, a full sister to champion sire Fastnet Rock, so there is some real quality to the pedigree.

More than half of the draft are by first season sires with Captivant, Portland Sky, Profiteer and Tiger of Malay all represented with additional highlights below and to see the full draft click here:

Lot 30 Colt Portland Sky x Kiss in the Rain, by Manhattan Rain

Half-brother to two winners and comes from the Singles Bar branch of the Easy Date family that has produced Group I winners King’s Legacy and Oohood as well as champion sire Not a Single Doubt.

He was the pick of the paddock from Day One and continues to be a very forward, athletic type as he grows.

Lot 44 Colt Captivant x Lamplady, by Counterattack

From the first crop of Group I winning juvenile Captivant. First foal of well bred mare, whose dam is a half-sister to Group II winner Splintex and stakes-winner Invictus Salute, whose first foal (Zoustar filly) sold for $950,000 at Inglis Easter.

From a family littered with black type, notably the current speed sensation Learning To Fly and just retired G1 winner Ozzmosis. This colt looks 'early' and will appeal to Pin Hookers and end-users alike.

Lot 84 Colt Captivant x Miss Loren, by Stryker

Another by Captivant and is from stakes-placed Miss Loren from the family of Group winning juveniles Hammerbeam and Dandolera.

This colt has an exceptional lose-walking action, great bone and a striking presence that will turn plenty of heads.

Lot 88 Colt Harry Angel (IRE) x Miss Spirituality, by Starcraft (NZ)

By the sire of Group I winner Tom Kitten and is a half-brother to three winners and is from an unraced half-sister to Group III placed Slumber Party from the Singles Bar branch of the Easy Date family.

A very forward, progressive colt with plenty of strength and presence. This colt will appeal to pinhookers and trainers alike.

Lot 273 Filly Pierata x Whitten’s Delight, by Barely a Moment

From the third crop of exciting young sire Pierata, whose fee has risen to $66,000 this year in the wake of siring Group winners Coleman and Tobeornottobe, plus Group placed Fearless, Red Sea and Wave Breaker. Half-sister to four winners including multiple metro winners Night of Delight and Street Delight and dam as left four foals to race all winners!

This filly is all class. One of the most quality fillies to be bred from our farm - she is virtually impossible to fault. Come and see for yourselves.
