Super Easy (NZ) to Stand at Roselee Park

Media Release - Monday April 29

Former Hallmark Stud stallion Super Easy (NZ) has arrived at Roselee Park in Western Australia where he will stand for an introductory service fee of $5,500 (inc GST).

Super Easy will stand in WA this spring at a fee of $5,500.

Perth trainer Brock Lewthwaite signed Super Easy (Darci Brahma) to join King’s Troop (Redoute’s Choice) at the Serpentine-based stud operated by Wayne and Tracy Rodwell.

“I organised the relocation of Jimmy Choux (NZ) from Rich Hill Stud to Roselee in 2019 but he was put down earlier this year,” Lewthwaite said.  “Super Easy will have his old paddock and it’s a timely transfer with his mare Bonny Lass winning the Group 1 BCD Sprint at Te Rapa in February.  I know the breed having already trained his Ascot winners Pearls and Prawns and Prawns Eleven.”

Super Easy came to hand as an early-season 2yo winning on debut at Trentham for trainer John Sargeant prior to going down a nose in the G2 Eclipse Stakes (1200m) at Ellerslie.  He was also beaten a length when fourth in LR Karaka 2YO Millions (1200m) at Ellerslie before being sold to Singapore.

He took Singapore by storm winning 9 Listed-level races on the way to back-to-back Horse Of The Year Awards for trainer Michael Freedman and the Joy N Happiness Stable.

"If he's not the best horse that I’ve ridden then I'm sure by the time he has finished he will be," champion jockey Joao Moreira claimed after the LR Singapore 3YO Sprint at Kranji.  "I've won Derby races and Cup races on some very good horses but this horse is something special.  Right from Day 1 he has given me that special feel and riding him in his races is such a pleasure.”

Super Easy has sired over 100 individual winners of 300 races and apart from Bonny Lass, his Stakes winners include Prom Queen, Sheezallmine, Super Strike & Spine Tingle in New Zealand and Easy Eddie (G3 ATC Maurice McCarten Hcp) & Dream Queen (LR MVRC William Crockett Stakes) in Australia.

Lewthwaite was raised in an equestrian environment at Wanganui and he visited Perth on the way back home from the 2012 Olympic Games in London.  That stop-over became permanent after working at Roselee, Touchstone Farm and Westbury Park as well as for trainers David Harrison and Vaughn Sigley.

His original claim to fame was being cast as a stunt double for ‘The Hobbit’ film trilogy but that all changed after training his first winner Musical Art (Excellent Art) at Bunbury in December 2016.  The highlight to date has been a Group 3 with Lady Chant (War Chant) in the 2022 WA Oaks (2400m) and she added a Group 3 placing on the road when runner-up in the SA Fillies Classic (2500m) at Morphettville.
