Four runners stepped into the ring on Boxing Day bearing the DGR purchase tag and three emerged as winners headed by exciting debut two year-old winner Into the Abyss.

DGR Thoroughbreds Magic Millions purchase Into the Abyss wins easily at RandwickThe John Thompson trained Into The Abyss scored a dominant win in a new class record at Randwick for long term clients Michael Alexeeff, Dato Tan Chin Nam and Matthew Sandblom.

A $240,000 Magic Millions purchase for us, the of daughter of Foxwedge holds a Magic Millions Classic nomination and we will see if she takes a berth in that $2m race. Read more about this promising filly here.

Ever consistent Equipped (4gMore Than Ready (USA) x Zona), representing a long list of long term owners and from the John Sargent stable, broke through for a well-deserved maiden win as a favourite at Newcastle, while Made In Russia (3g Street Cry (IRE) x Millie Milou), coming from the McEvoy stable made it two wins from four starts when saluting at Morphettville for our previous owners of Group I star First Seal in the China Horse Club.

Our other runner, Indisputable (3c Redoute's Choice x Judged) started favourite after finishing a short head second on debut, but he failed to round out an undefeated day. His day will come again…. possibly quite soon.
