Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Friday April 26

Trials were at Warwick Farm on Friday morning with five heats won by juveniles and they included some unraced youngsters by champion sires Snitzel and Written Tycoon as well as first season sire Yes Yes Yes.

The Marc Conners trained Yes Yes Yes filly Shezasiren has had a good grounding at the trials and looked quick and professional leading all the way to win her heat by a couple of lengths over smart metro winning filly Froebel Star. She is now three for three at the trials, so is ready for the real thing.

A modest $35,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer, Shezasiren is from imported stakes-winner Siren’s Song (IRE), who has had five winners from six to race.

Third to Shezasiren in her first trial on April 12, the Ciaron Maher trained Snitzel filly Jellicious took benefit from that and cruised to a length win in her heat with Tyler Schiller on board in the B2B Thoroughbreds colours.

A $600,000 Magic Millions purchase for B2B from Baramul Stud, Jellicious is a sibling to Group III winner Felines and stakes-placed Domesticated and Snitcat from good producer Jellicles.

Also from the Ciaron Maher stable is Written Tycoon colt Goodlucktome, who was having his third trial, but first this prep and did everything right to find the line well under a hold and win by a length over Shanwah, the most expensive colt from the first crop of Too Darn Hot (GB).

Retained by Hutchins Thoroughbreds, Goodlucktome is a half-brother to stakes-placed Impasse and Better Land being from former brilliant Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Amelia’s Dream, who has had eight foals to race and all are winners.

Hutchins Thoroughbreds are having a dispersal sale under their Element Hill banner at the Magic Millions National Sale and their draft includes Amelia’s Dream (in foal to So You Think)and her four time winning daughter Radiant Remi in the broodmare section as well as a weanling filly by So You Think from Amelia’s Dream that will be offered as Lot 14.

Additional winners were: Inception (Russian Revolution) and Tessy Tee (Rubick).
