Darley Stallions Touch Down in Australia

Darley will stand a roster of 24 stallions in 2017 which includes 15 stallions whom have arrived safely in Australia after shuttling from the Northern Hemisphere.

The arrivals list includes : Exceed And Excel , Medaglia d'Oro , Teofilo , Street Boss , Brazen Beau , Epaulette (full list here ).

Frosted is set to follow in the hoofprints of Medaglia d'Oro and Street Cry, two high class shuttle stallions who proved themselves champions on American racetracks before making an indelible mark at stud in Australia.

Territories looks an ideal type for Australia, his sire Invincible Spirit, a successful shuttle stallion himself, is becoming a preeminent sire of sires and Choisir's brilliant two-year-old son The Last Lion is another ideal candidate. He has a very Australian pedigree, won the first two-year-old race of the year as well as the G1 Middle Park Stakes in Newmarket. I can't wait till Australian breeders see him. He looks just like an Australian sprinting two-year-old."

FrostedIn transit for approximately 30 hours, crossing three continents (USA, Europe and Australia) and spending two weeks in quarantine, for a stallion to shuttle down to Australia from the Northern Hemisphere it takes a dedicated team and months of meticulous planning.

"Darley have such special logistics available to them for shuttling stallions," said Irish Equine Centre's flying veterinarian Des Leadon. "The ability to travel the horses in first class accommodation – just one horse per jet stable, and a fantastic team of personnel with enormous experience."

In four weeks Godolphin operations will commence the 2017 breeding season.

"When you first see Territories, he's a lovely athletic individual, a real stamp of his sire and a horse that will really suit Australia.

"The Last Lion is a lovely, strong, precocious looking animal and a real 'Aussie' type and Frosted; what a beautiful, athletic stallion he is with an amazing presence."
