Hong Kong Winner for Bon Ho

Tara Madgwick - Thursday April 11

Four year-old Deep Field gelding Sports Legend started life in Australia trained by Les Bridge winning twice at Randwick and Warick Farm last year before his transfer to Hong Kong and he was back in the winners list at Happy Valley on Wednesday evening.

Now trained by Danny Shum, he was one of three winners on the night for Zac Purton and claimed the win with a bold front running dash that saw him hang on and win the 1200m Class Three event by three-quarters of a length, his fourth win from 14 starts.

Sports Legend was a $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for his owner from the Newgate Farm draft and is the first winner for stakes-winning Beneteau mare Twist Tops.
