Hellbent Filly on the Up

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 10

Gary Portelli has had plenty of success starting talented horses off in the country before they make their way to town and one Hellbent filly following that path is Miss Hades, who resumed from a spell to win at the metro meeting at Gosford on Wednesday.

Miss Hades won her maiden at Cootamundra and her next start at Orange last year before winning in town at her final start of 2023 in a Benchmark 72 event at Rosehill.

She picked up right where she left off finishing with a rush to win the Benchmark 72 event over 1200m to take her overall record to four wins from six starts with prizemoney just shy of $130,000.

“It’s very satisfying for the whole stable as she is really rattling through the grades which is great to see,” said Portelli Racing Manager James Fathers.

“We’ve got some very excited owners here and so they should be, they have a great filly on their hands!”

Miss Hades was an $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase.

An $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Elite Thoroughbreds, Miss Hades is the first winner for Union Dues, a winning Fastnet Rock grand-daughter of US Group III winner Tee Kay, the dam of Japanese Horse of the Year Symboli Kris S.
