Low Risk With Time - $500,000 Written Tycoon Half-Brother to Zougotcha

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 7

Widden Stud will offer some sensational yearlings over the next two days at Inglis Easter and one of the best on paper was the Written Tycoon half-brother to dual Group I winner Zougotcha and Mick Price believes he’s gotten unbeatable value paying $500,000 for the flashy chestnut.

He is the sixth foal of exceptional producer Fast Talker, a stakes-placed Fastnet Rock mare that has already produced $1.7million earner Zougotcha and two more stakes-winners in The Actuary and Persuader.

$500,000 Written Tycoon colt from Fast Talker.

Zougotcha was bought out of the Widden draft at this sale in 2021 for $500,000 and this colt has made the same money.

“Beautiful page, beautiful horse and a beautiful mover,” Mick Price told Jemma Cutting of Inglis, revealing he thought the colt would make a lot more until he received the x-ray report.

“It came back with mild sesamoiditis and our vets deemed him ‘low risk with time’, how much time we don’t know…  but if he’s a good colt, he’ll be worth a lot more than he is now.”

Fast Talker is now back in foal to Zoustar.
