Vinery Stud have a long list of successful graduates to emerge from the Hunter Valley based nursery and the most recent is exciting Zoustar colt Growing Empire, who carried the Yulong colours to victory in the Listed MVRC Moonee Valley Pearl last month.

A $700,000 purchase from their Inglis Easter draft last year, Growing Empire looks to be a colt of serious potential winning a stakes race at just his second start by two lengths!

Vinery have brought a stellar draft of 18 to Riverside stables and they include five youngsters that are either siblings to Group I winners or out of Group I winners so let’s take a look at them!

Lot 22 Colt Written Tycoon x Fast Fleet, by Fastnet Rock

Half-brother to Champion Sprinter Santa Ana Lane, a five time Group I winner of $8.2million.Bred on successful Written Tycoon x Fastnet Rock cross that has produced five SW’s headed by Golden Slipper winner Lady of Camelot.

Lot 50 Colt Flying Artie x Gracie’s Lass, by More Than Ready (USA)

Full brother to $2.4million earning dual Group I winner Artorius, who won a Blue Diamond at two and then the ATC Canterbury Stakes at WFA at four beating Imperatriz.

Lot 301 Filly I Am Invincible x Snitzerland, by Snitzel

Half-sister to Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate winner Hard Landing and Group III placed Saas Fee and is from Group I VRC Lightning Stakes winner Snitzerland, who has had four foals to race all winners. Bred on the same cross as stakes-winner Supreme Idea.

Lot 337 Filly Zoustar x Tallow, by Street Cry (IRE)

Half-sister to $2.5million earning Champion 2YO and Golden Slipper winner Farnan as well as stakes-winner Sandbar from Group III winner Tallow. Bred on the same cross as Group III ATC Breeders Plate winner Espionage.

Lot 427 Colt Zoustar x Aristia, by Lonhro

First foal of Group I VRC Oaks winner Aristia, a half-sister to Group I MRC Oakleigh Plate winner Marabi.  Bred on Zoustar x Lonhro nick that has 100% success, 10 winners from 10 runners headed by SW Healthy Happy and three more Black Type placed horses.

Lot 128 Colt Ole Kirk x Manasari, by More Than Ready (USA)

From the first crop of Vinery Stud’s exciting young sire Ole Kirk. Second foal of a winning half-sister to Japanese Group III winner Fiano Romano and Group III placed Ameristralia, dam of US Group II winner Ain’t Easy. His half-sister Indian Jewel (3f All Too Hard) has been metro place in Melbourne at her past two starts.

Lot 152 Filly Exceedance x Miss Gunpowder, by Pendragon (NZ)

Third foal of Group II winner Miss Gunpowder and this filly’s full sister Jupiter Hills made $380,000 at this sale last year and has shown nice ability in the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable. From the family of Group I winning filly Absolut Glam.

Lot 278 Filly Street Boss (USA) x Sezanne, by More Than Ready (USA)

Third foal of Group I placed Sezanne, a half-sister to stakes-winner Grace and Harmony from Group II winner Champagne Harmony with this family producing Group I winners Champagne, St Reims and NZ Horse of the Year Bonneval. First foal of the mare Joiselle (3f Snitzel) has had two starts for two wins! Second foal Esternay (2f All Too Hard) sold for $400,000 at this sale last year to Cambridge Stud and is trained by Mark Walker.
