Inglis Easter Next for Newcomer North

North might be a new name in the vendor index at Inglis Easter this year, but it’s familiar faces with Mick and Pauline Malone acquiring and putting their stamp on the former Kanangra Stud to reinvigorate this proven Hunter Valley farm as an elite nursery for future thoroughbred stars.

The North brand has been well received with yearlings selling for up to $800,000 at Magic Millions and $600,000 at Inglis Classic and Inglis Easter marks the next stage of their commercial journey.

North will present a draft of 11 that features two crackers by champion sire Snitzel and a gorgeous Ole Kirk colt that is the first foal of a Snitzel stakes-winner!

Lot 41 Filly Snitzel x French Doll, by Northern Meteor

Fourth foal of an unraced half-sister by Northern Meteor to Japanese Group II winner Red Genesis and the first foal of the mare to race, French Comet is now a winner. Bred on an emerging nick with Snitzel over Northern Meteor mares producing four winners from five runners and two of them are this season’s juvenile stakes-winners Prost and Highness.

Lot 413 Colt Snitzel x All Too Soon, by All Too Hard

Second foal of Group III placed All Too Soon, a half-sister to stakes-winner Rock Hero from Group II winner Gallant Tess. First foal is Swift Gun (2c Exceed), retained to race and in work with Brad Widdup.

Lot 386 Colt Ole Kirk x Wayupinthesky, by Snitzel

From the first crop of Champion 3YO Colt Ole Kirk and is the first foal of Flemington stakes-winner Wayupinthesky from the same family that has produced dual Group I winning three year-old Riff Rocket, who runs in the Group I ATC Australian Derby this Saturday. Bred on similar very successful Written Tycoon (sire of Ole Kirk) x Snitzel cross that has produced this season’s exciting juveniles, Group I winner Velocious and Group II winner Captured by Love.

Lot 97 Filly So You Think x Kardashing, by Redoute’s Choice

Second foal of stakes-placed Kardashing from the family of Group winners Great Crusader, Benny’s Buttons and Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Real Surreal. First foal Miss Kim Kar (2f Pierata) in work with Bjorn Baker. Bred on successful So You Tthink x Redoute’s Choice cross that has produced five SW’s highlighted by G1 winners D’Argento, Inference and G2 winner Fasika.

Lot 146 Colt Justify (USA) x Mi Mala (NZ), by Tavistock

First foal of an unraced half-sister to Group II placed Marchand from Champion NZ Mare Lashed, a triple Group I winner from the family of Group I winners Shogun Lodge, Referral and Singing the Blues. By one of the world’s best young sires in Justify from a daughter of Tavistock, who is shaping as an influential broodmare sire with his daughters producing seven SW’s headed by six time Group I winner and $13million earner Mr Brightside as well as another Group I winner Mercurial.

Lot 204 Colt So You Think x Paprena, by Fastnet Rock

Second foal of a winning half-sister to stakes-placed Canadian Spice from juvenile stakes-winner Paprika. Bred on successful So You Think x Fastnet Rock cross that has produced three SW’s headed by Group I  winner Palaispan.
