Inglis Easter Trio from Mill Park

It’s been a busy start to the year for Chris Watson and his team from Mill Park in South Australia and while the next generation of yearlings are being offered at sales around Australia, the past graduates having been doing the business on the racetrack and three outstanding youngsters to be offered at Inglis Easter hold promise for the future.

The Hall of Fame for Mill Park bristles with G1 stars such as Fawkner, Mummify, Happy Trails, Rebel Raider, Southern Speed and Divine Madonna with far too many stars to name, but if you’re only as good as what’s happened in the last 12 months then Mill Park are producing the goods in spades.

Mill Park have been in hot form this season as a source of premium stakes horses with star graduates such as Group I winner Attrition (Churchill (IRE), Group winning mares Benedetta (Hellbent), Rose Quartz (Written Tycoon), Brazen Style (Brazen Beau), Foxy Frida (Foxwedge) and stakes-winning three year-olds Air Assault (Justify (USA) and Arctic Glamour (Frosted(USA), who was a good second last Saturday against the older mares in the Group II ATC Emancipation Stakes.

Also add in stakes performers such as Group II placed Attractable (I Am Invincible) winner of the $3million ATC The Big Dance on Melbourne Cup Day last year and horses like Party Princess, Ballroom Bella, Arugamama and Counterofffensive.

The three strong Mill Park draft for Inglis Easter is as follows and all of them will sell in the final hours of the sale on Monday:

Lot 433 Colt Blue Point (IRE) x Bahamas, by Teofilo (IRE)

Half-brother to Group II winner Berkely Square and Group III winner Senor Toba, who was second in the Group I Queensland Derby and has gone on to a successful career in Hong Kong where he was won multiple Group races.

Comes from a Black Type family featuring Group II winner Affair to Remember and is bred on a cross that has had plenty of success in the Northern Hemsiphere. Sons of Shamardal (sire of Blue Point) have produced five SW’s from daughters of Teofilo including G1 winner Dreamloper.

Lot 437 Filly Capitalist x Beluga Blue, by Lookin at Lucky (USA)

Third foal of Group II placed stakes-winner Beluga Blue from the family of Group I winner Montoya’s Secret and Group winners Excited Angel, Text ‘n’ Hurley, Typhoon and Delago’s Secret.

Dam sire Lookin at Lucky better known in North and South America and has sired the dams of 12 SW’s including two G1 winners and next three dams by champion sires Redoute’s Choice, Marscay and Vain.

Lot 463 Filly Zoustar x Cocoa Doll, by More Than Ready (USA)

Half-sister to Group III placed Written Swoosh and two more winners and is fifth foal from Cocoa Doll, a metro winning half-sister by More Than Ready (USA) to Champion 2YO Filly Away Game and SW Modern Wonder, the dam of this season’s stakes-placed juvenile Innervisions.

Cocoa Doll has a 2YO Snitzel colt Fitzpatrick that made $950,000 at MM last year and is in work with Anthony and Sam Freedman. She had a filly by Home Affairs last spring and is back in foal to Zoustar, so there is a bit to come in the family for this filly, who offers high residual value for the future.
