2YO Sale Mail Randwick- Watch Races

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 27

There are a couple of very interesting juvenile maidens over 1100m at Randwick on Wednesday featuring some unraced youngsters that have shown up at the trials and while the established juvenile stars are engaged with the Sydney Autumn Carnival for these youngsters Brisbane may loom large on the horizon.

The colts and geldings race features the debut of $1.6million Snitzel colt Imperial Force, who is trained by Chris Waller and ridden by James McDonald. He is a full brother to Group III winner Sprightly Lass and stakes-winner Le Cordon Bleu.

Super interesting runner from the pedigree perspective is the Peter and Paul Snowden trained colt Vaafee, a homebred for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum. The son of American Pharoah (USA) is from blue hen Al Anood, who has left seven winners from eight runners and they include dual Group I winning sire Pride of Dubai, Group II winner Enaad and stakes-winners Ghanaati and Al Aneed.

The fillies event is a ripper with several of the raced contestants having placed previously in good company and three unraced Zoustar fillies from the Waterhouse Bott stable have all won trials.

Pinito was a $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Godolphin.

Godolphin don’t buy a lot of yearlings at the sales, but they did fork out $260,000 for Trapeze Artist filly Pinito at Inglis Easter last year and she rattled  home on debut for second in a similar race over 1000m two weeks ago.

Also adding interest is Useapin, who was bought by Mulcaster Bloodstock/Chris Waller Racing Pty Ltd at Magic Millions for $420,000 making her the most expensive filly from the first crop of Everest winner Yes Yes Yes, who was also trained by Chris Waller.

Useapin was a $420,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Her two trials have both been good and from barrier two with James McDonald to ride is expected to run well and does hold an entry for the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes next month.
