Extremely Promising Winner for Trilogy

Tara Madgwick - Saturday March 16

Friday was a good day at the office for Trilogy Racing, whose colours were carried by Pierro filly Queen of Dragons to win the Group III Kembla Grange Classic and then later in the day promising Extreme Choice filly Extreme Virtue scored easily for them at Pakenham to rack up their 100th win.

Trained by the Lindsay Park team and ridden by Craig Williams, Extreme Virtue was sent off as favourite for her second start in the 1400m maiden and powered clear to win by nearly two lengths making light of an outside gate.

“Ben (Hayes) was very confident prior to the race as she is a lovely filly,” said Craig Williams.

“We brought her here because she likes big open tracks and we didn’t mind the barrier because we have a lot of faith in her galloping ability.

“She’s still learning and is a work in progress, but she has a really good motor.”

A $350,000 Inglis Premier purchase from Blue Gum Farm for Trilogy Racing, Extreme Virtue was bred by Pepper Tree Farm in NSW and is the first foal of placed So You Think mare Superego, a grand-daughter of Group I Australian Oaks winner Danendri, whose descendants include another VRC Oaks winner in Faint Perfume.

Jason and Melanie Stenning of Trilogy Racing have been big investors in bloodstock in recent years and are enjoying growing success as owners and also in the breeding side of the business through their acquisition of Blue Gum Farm in partnership with Sean and Cathy Dingwall.
