Consensus in the Group I Captain Cook boost dam’s appeal on gavelhouse.com

Media Release - Friday December 8
The Stephen McKee-trained Group I  Zabeel Classic winner Consensus (NZ) (Postponed) could provide her dam Kate Cross (NZ) (Cape Cross) with a timely pedigree boost when she lines up in the Group I Captain Cook Stakes (1600m) at Trentham on Saturday.

Consensus - Trish DunnellKate Cross is offered for sale as the star of a three in one package at Lot 34 on gavelhouse.com that includes the Group One producer in foal to Haunui Farm sire Iffraaj along with an attractive Showcasing filly at foot.

Also in the current 47 Lot catalogue is a two-year-old full sister to Consensus who is a racing proposition at Lot 15.

Consensus is set to start from barrier three in tomorrow's event in which six-time Group One winner Kawi (NZ) (Savabeel) is currently a firm favourite.

Part owner and breeder of Consensus, Leo Molloy is pleased with the mare going into tomorrow's event commenting "She's been served by Tavistock and seems to have lifted her game to another level, she's flying."

"She's no miler though and she's not great left-handed but she's being set to defend her Zabeel Classic title and then go onto the Herbie Dyke Stakes again."

"If she's not in foal we will then look to the Ranvet."

Bidding on the gavelhouse.com New Zealand auction closes from 7pm (NZ) on Monday 11 December while entries for the next gavelhouse.com Australia auction are due at 7pm (AEDT) on Monday.
