The Alma Vale Kitchwin Hills partnership might only have four yearlings in their Inglis Premier draft, but they include the full brother to an exciting unbeaten Group winning sprinter and siblings to two more stakes-winners.

It’s been a strong start to the year for this newly created partnership run by Verna Metcalfe (General Manager of Alma Vale and Kitchwin Hills) and Stud Manager Oscar Englebrecht with solid results at Magic Millions and Inglis Classic in the lead up to Premier.

The star of the draft is Lot 328, the only colt in the entire sale by now pensioned champion Hong Kong sire Deep Field. This powerhouse chestnut is from well related mare Keeping Score and he’s had a big pedigree update as a full brother to Master Fay.

A lightly raced six year-old, Master Fay has had three starts and won all of them with his most recent victory in the Group III Concorde Handicap at Ellerslie on Karaka Million day earning him a trip to Australia for the better sprint races during the autumn. Read about him here.

Bred by Fairhill Farm and sold as a weanling, as was Group I MRC Blue Diamond winner Hayasugi, this much admired colt traces back to the same female family as current WFA star Mr Brightside and both horses share blue hen Taiona as their fourth dam.

Lot 286 is another youngster with a strong pedigree being a half-sister by Impending to Group III MRC Quezette Stakes winner Bound for Home.

She is the third foal of Homebird, a winning half-sister to the dam of stakes-winner Religify and to the dam of this season’s Group II winner Chrysaor with the family made famous by world champion sprinter Silent Witness.

Rounding out the draft are two more attractive colts as listed below:

Lot 347 Colt Bivouac x Lago Joy, by Encosta de Lago

From the first crop of Champion 3YO Colt Sprinter Bivouac and is a half-brother to stakes-placed Grand Challenge and three more winners with Lago Joy having the perfect record of four foals to race all winners. He comes from the Clifton Gardens branch of the Denise’s Joy family noted for producing Group I winner Miss Danehill and Group winners Pentastic and Primus.

Lot 373 Colt Belardo (IRE) x Mae West, by Sir Percy (GB)

Half-brother to multiple stakes-winner Bella Mae from Group III placed Mae West, a half-sister to Group III winner Who Dares Wins.
