Newhaven Park are presenting a quality draft of 16 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale that features four yearlings by their exciting young first season sire Cool Aza Beel, but the most interesting youngster in the lineup is one whose fortunes have shot into the stratosphere since the start of the year.

Bellatrix Star won the G2 Eclipse Stakes in a thriller - Racing Images NZ

Lot 90 is the half-brother to outstanding New Zealand trained juvenile Bellatrix Star (Star Witness), who beat a hot field including Karaka Million winner Velocious to win the Group II Eclipse Stakes at Pukekohe on New Year’s Day.

The Te Akau Racing colourbearer has been tough and consistent since the start of the season racking up two wins and two placings from five starts with a last start fourth in the Karaka Million.

Her yearling half-brother is from the second crop of Invincible Spirit’s Group I winning son Royal Meeting (IRE), who is now the leading first season sire in Australia thanks to his outstanding daughter Hayasugi, who added the $2million Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes to her resume last Saturday after earlier wins in both the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Preview and Group II MRC Blue Diamond Prelude.

This colt is the fourth foal of Alana’s Party, an Exceed and Excel half-sister to Group III placed Petition from Group I winner The Party Stand from the family of four time Group I winner Callsign Mav.

Few if any yearlings in this sale would have had as much positive input through sire and dam this year and he is a big strong colt that will not disappoint.
