Promising Debut Winner for Zousain - Sister for MM Gold Coast March

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 13

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, Zousain filly Drifting had been showing nice potential at the trials and kicked off her career with a commanding win at Hawkesbury on Tuesday.

Ridden by Tom Sherry, Drifting settled off the pace and powered to the line, keeping up a good gallop all the way to the post to win the 1000m juvenile maiden by nearly two lengths.

A $160,000 Inglis Classic purchase from Murrulla Stud for Snowden Racing / William Johnson Bloodstock, Drifting runs for a big group of happy owners including the Snowden family.

Drifting was a $160,000 Inglis Classic purchase.

“She’s a nice filly with good improvement to come and should have no trouble coming to town,” said Paul Snowden.

Drifting is the third winner from three foals to race from Backpacker Express, a half-sister by Big Brown (USA) to Group II winning filly Downhill Racer from the family of Group II winner Schubert.

Murrulla Stud will offer the full sister to Drifting at the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale as Lot 223.

Drifting is the second winner and first in Australia for Widden Stud’s good looking Zoustar son Zousain.
