$420,000 Justify Filly a Star for Mullaglass Stud

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 12

Hunter Valley vet and avid thoroughbred breeder Dr Richard McClenahan is no stranger to success at Inglis Classic having bred a colt by Capitalist from Theatric that topped the sale in 2021 at $625,000 in the Kitchwin Hills draft, but this year was a little different with McClenahan consigning his yearlings under his own Mullaglass Stud banner and he hit a home run when the Justify (USA) filly from Isaly Inlet (Can) sold for $420,000.

$420,000 Justify (USA) filly from Islay Inlet (Can).

Secured by Ellerslie Lodge/ Bryce Heys, the much admired filly is the second foal of well bred import Islay Inlet, a winning half-sister by Lemon Drop Kid to stakes-winner Merveilleux from the family of Group winners Bauble Queen and Blitzkrieg tracing back to fourth dam By Land By Sea, a dual Group I winner.

Islay Inlet was bought by Mullaglass Stud for $110,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and she produced a colt by Farnan last spring and is now in foal to King’s Legacy.
