All yearling vendors love to have a big horse to hang their hat on and in the case of Kerrie Tibbey and her team at Goodwood Farm it’s $9million earning Group I winning sprinter Private Eye and while they wait with anticipation to offer his half-brother at Inglis Easter, they are being kept busy in the interim at Inglis Classic.

Foaled and raised at Goodwood Farm before being dispatched to the Adelaide Magic Millions in the care of Ambergate Farm, Private Eye caught the eye of Proven Thoroughbreds Jamie Walters, who shelled out $62,500 to secure the son of Al Maher and the rest is history.

Trained by Joe Pride, Private Eye scored his first Group I win in the 2021 ATC Epsom Handicap and has competed at the elite level ever since placing in the last two editions of The Everest with recent barrier trials suggesting the talented gelding is in for another good campaign during the autumn.

Lot 62 Filly Harry Angel (IRE) x All Over Casanova, by Smart Missile

Third foal of a placed daughter of stakes-winner Vivid Vixen. By the sire of this season’s Group I winner Tom Kitten and is from a daughter of Smart Missile, who is sire of the dam of this season’s Group I VRC Victoria Derby winner Riff Rocket.

Lot 154 Colt North Pacific x Canberra, by Sepoy

From the first crop of Group III winner and Golden Rose runner-up North Pacific and is first foal of a metro winning daughter of stakes-winner Hidden Wonder. From the family of Caulfield Guineas winner Kenwood Melody and is from a daughter of emerging broodmare sire Sepoy, sire of the dams of G1 winner Pignan and G2 winners Steparty and Live to Tell.

Lot 257 Colt Ole Kirk x Excessabeel (NZ), by Savabeel

From the first crop of Champion 3YO Colt Ole Kirk. Second foal of stakes-placed grand-daughter of Group I winner Royal Tiara from the family of Group winners Ransom Express and Sidera. Savabeel mares have produced 25 SW’s so far including G1 winners Savatoxl, Never Been Kissed and Icebath.

Lot 644 Colt Brave Smash (Jpn) x Rock of Diamonds, by Fastnet Rock

By exciting young sire Brave Smash, sire of SW Brave Mead and G1 placed Kimochi. Half-brother to a winner and is from a full sister to the dam of Group III MRC Blue Diamond Preview winner De Sonic Boom and stakes-winner Laverrod.

Lot 767 Filly Harry Angel (IRE) x Teeancee, by Hinchinbrook

Third foal of a half-sister to stakes-winner Calchris, the dam of stakes-winner Calcatta, who is in turn the dam of SW’s Tanker and Lady Naturaliste. Mares by Hinchinbrook have made a great start as broodmares producing four SW’s – Group winners Sejardan, Wollombi and Cordyceps Six as well as last Sunday’s Hong Kong Classic Mile winner Helios Express.

Lot 769 Colt Astern x Tempting Lady, by Northern Meteor

Half-brother to stakes-winner Smart Meteor and four more winners including Lady Devine (3f Divine Prophet), who won at Hawkesbury after the catalogue came out. By the sire of Group I winners Golden Mile and Affaire a Suivre from a daughter of emerging broodmare sire Northern Meteor, sire of the dams of two new juvenile SW’s this season in Prost and Highness.
