Lonhro Blood at Larneuk

Media Release - Thursday August 3
One of the first sons of champion sire Lonhro to go to stud and his only son standing in Victoria, Larneuk Stud's O'Lonhro has now established himself as a proven source of quality winners at an affordable fee.

O'LonhroO'Lonhro has had a fruitful season posting 44 winners from 82 runners with seasonal earnings topping $1.1 million in prizemoney.

His most successful horse has been the Leon and Troy Corstens trained mare Mamzelle Tess, who won three race in a row through April and May at Bendigo, Geelong and Sale.

Rising in distance from 1100m to 1300m to 1411m and up in class to BM78 level at Sale, the talented mare looks set for bigger and better things as a five year-old.

"She is a really good example of how being patient can pay off," Troy Corstens said, noting that Mamzelle Tess has "really come into her own given a bit of time."

"She is an absolute pleasure to have in the stable and she tries her heart out every time we send her around. She is absolutely thriving at the moment and can definitely make the step to city class now."

O'Lordy wins at RosehillThe Larneuk Stud bred O'Lordy is already proving herself at metropolitan level, overcoming trouble in running to salute in tough fashion at Rosehill in a $60,000 Highway event and finishing second in a similar race in June.

"She is a talented mare who can win better races," said trainer Danny Williams with jockey Jay Ford confident that the four-year-old will be all the better over further - "I think she is going to make a really nice miler," he said.

O'Lonhro's progeny excel when given time to mature and his overall stats now read 54 winners of 110 races from 85 runners with 56.8% winners to runners and overall prizemoney of $2.2million.

Heading his list of winners is O'Lonera, who won the $150,000 VOBIS Gold Stayers event at Caulfield last year for Cindy Alderson and has won over $330,000 in prizemoney.
O'Lonera has won over $330,000
"O'Lonhro is a terrific owner/breeder horse whose progeny stand a great chance of getting to the track and he sires tough, honest performers who are giving their owners a lot of fun," said Neville Murdoch.

For breeders looking for a little piece of the Lonhro magic, O'Lonhro is affordable at a fee of $5,500 and is completely free of Danehill blood.

Coming as he does from the family of red hot Hunter Valley sire sensation I Am Invincible, O'Lonhro has the pedigree to please the owner breeder looking to access the best bloodlines close to home and within budget.
