Kings Legacy Poised to Impress at Karaka

A dual Group I winning two year-old by champion sire Redoute’s Choice, King’s Legacy posted encouraging results at Magic Millions with 27 yearlings selling for up to $775,000 and he has a strong selection of eight for Book 1 of the NZB Yearling Sale Series starting on Sunday at Karaka.

A close relation of champion sire Not a Single Doubt that was purchased as a yearling by James Harron for $1.4million, Coolmore based King’s Legacy was the most popular first season sire in Australia in 2021 so has a big crop of yearlings and some lovely types have found their way to New Zealand.

Half-sister to Group III placed Familia and dam has had three foals to race all winners and is a half-sister to Group II winner Rolling Pin from stakes-winner Gypsy’ Daughter.

Second foal of a well bred mare, whose first foal Okami Star (2c Justify USA) won a recent trial in Sydney and was not disgraced when making his debut at Canterbury in an all aged 1250m maiden and was beaten only two lengths when sixth.
