Karaka Book 1 kicks off on Sunday January 28 with three sessions showcasing 682 of New Zealand’s finest yearlings and first season sires will be a big part of the action with New Zealand based shuttlers Hello Youmzain (Fr) and Circus Maximus (IRE) well represented with 45 and 40 entries respectively.

A dual Group I winning sprinter by blueblood Danehill stallion Kodiac, Hello Youmzain has been a popular visitor to Cambridge Stud.

His sire Kodiac is a half-brother to champion sire Invincible Spirit and his female family is packed with Black Type and traces back to Mill Reef mare Sandy Island, whose daughter Subterfuge (GB) has spawned an impressive stakes dynasty in Australasia featuring countless Group winners such as Summer Passage and Shania Dane.
