Spendthrift Hinchinbrook Winner Impresses

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 22
A $160,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Spendthrift Farm, three year-old Hinchinbrook colt Echo Jet made it two wins from three starts when s coring an easy victory at Sandown on Wednesday.

Echo Jet as a yearlingThe Hawkes Racing trained colt was a facile winner at Newcastle on November 4 at his second start and looked just as good galloping the opposite direction in metropolitan class.

He hit the line hard to win by three-quarters of a length over 1200 metres and will gain plenty of benefit from the experience.

Bred and offered for sale by Yarraman Park, he is the first foal of Magic Albert's stakes-winning daughter Tai Tai Tess, a grand-daughter of Group I VRC Oaks winner Arborea.

Yarraman Park will offer the current yearling from Tai Tai Tess, a colt by I am Invincible, as Lot 373 at the 2018 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.

Hinchinbrook has been in the news this week with a smart winner at Rosehill on Saturday in Equal Balance, a brilliant Sha Tin winner on Sunday in Beat the Clock and the top priced lot at the opening session of the NZB Ready to Run Sale on Wednesday with his colt from El Ashb (IRE) fetching $460,000.
